Plaatselijke stafmedewerkers Britse ambassade gearresteerd in Iran

Eight local staff members of the British embassy in Tehran have been arrested in connection with the country’s post-election unrest, Iran’s government-funded Press TV reported Sunday, CNN reports.

Asked about the arrests of the local staffers, an official at the embassy would only say, “They couldn’t come to the office today.” The person asked not to be identified because he is not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

ANH Press Release: Hampshire MPs pledge to put fluoridation decision on hold in Southampton

Yesterday, opponents of fluoridation met in Westminster to discuss the South Central Strategic Health Authority’s decision to fluoridate the water supplies of nearly 200,000 people in the Southampton and South West Hampshire area. Campaigners from Hampshire Against Fluoridation were able to cite 15,348 objections to the fluoridation plan from the local area.

If implemented, Southampton and environs will become the first area of the UK to fluoridate following a law change in 2003. The Water Act 2003 gives health chiefs the power to instruct water companies to mass medicate their customers with fluorosilicic acid via their water supplies. The Southampton case is seen widely as a ‘test case’ which will significantly influence the decisions of other Strategic Health Authorities around the country.

Indian scientists set to create artifical rain
If it doesn't rain, it might still pour! That's what some Indian scientists at the Pune-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM) are hoping to achieve with a national cloud seeding programme at a time when there's uncertainty about the arrival and intensity of the monsoon this year.

Refreshing News writes: “Cloud seeding is the process of introducing chemicals (either dry ice or more commonly, silver iodide aerosols, potassium and sodium chloride) into the upper part of clouds to try to stimulate the precipitation process and get rain.”

Polar bear expert barred by global warmists

Over the coming days, a curiously revealing event will be taking place in Copenhagen. But Mitchell Taylor, who has studied the animals for 30 years, was told his views 'are extremely unhelpful’, reveals Christopher Booker.

Top of the agenda at a meeting of the Polar Bear Specialist Group (set up under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature/Species Survival Commission) will be the need to produce a suitably scary report on how polar bears are being threatened with extinction by man-made global warming.

De Britse krant The Telegraph reports: “Specifically because his views on global warming do not accord with those of the rest of the group.”

Paarden koelen af in de sloten met dit warme weer
In Schiedam werd een paard in de sloot aangetroffen met nog juist het hoofd boven water. Met een hijskraan wist de brandweer het paard er na drie kwartier uit te halen. 2 andere paarden kwamen kijken.
